Canoe Trips & Canoeing Lessons Near Fort William

Highland Activities offer canoeing taster sessions and lessons near Fort William from our centre at The Great Glen Water Park on Loch Oich. We can also run half day and full day canoe trips on Loch Oich with one of our professional instructors to look after you along the way. Loch Oich is a great place to learn to paddle as it is the most sheltered loch in the Great Glen system and  beautiful place to be in an open canoe.

2 Hour Intro To Canoeing £30 pp

During this 2 hour lesson your instructor will take you through the basic skills required to first of all keep you safe on the water on dry land before getting into your boat. Once you are in your canoe with paddle in hand you will then start to learn some of the basic paddling strokes and techniques to help you paddle forwards, backwards & turn as well as the effect of wind and waves on your boat.

Half Day Canoe Trip On Loch Oich £50 pp

After getting to know your instructor and going over some of the basic skills that are required for open canoeing you will embark on a journey down Loch Laggan to explore some of the secluded bays, islands and scenery of this most scenic Loch. Please bring a snack and waterproof clothing for this trip, a hat may also be useful if the weather is cold or wet.
